Directions to Alcova Reservoir from Casper Wyoming:
Located 30 miles southwest of Casper off Wyoming State Route 220 is the turnoff for Alcova. Exit onto county roads 406 or 407 to access the lake.
Alcova Reservoir activities include fishing, swimming, personal watercraft, waterskiing, campsites with and without electric hookup, showers, restrooms, drinking water, sanitary dump station, picnic/day use, and boat launching ramps. The Alcova Reservoir Recreational area provides a variety of campsites mainly located on the southern shore of the lake.
Fishing includes brown trout, cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, and walleye with Rainbow and brown trout stocked annually.
Boat and Jet Ski rentals are also available at Alcova Lakeside Marina from mid April through mid September.
The area around Alcova Reservoir provides excellent outdoor recreational opportunities for the residents of the Casper and the surrounding areas of Wyoming. Boating, off road vehicles and water skiing in summer combined with snowmobiling and ice fishing in winter attract many visitors to the area each year. Picnic areas, camping areas, and beach sites are also extremely popular. The Alcova Reservoir covers 2,470 acres, and attracts more than 185,000 visitors every year. |
